July Comes Before August!!

Really? Is it really July? Do you realize that July is the month before August? And August is when Bethany is due!!!


It's incredibly strange how it can feel like time is dragging on and racing by all at once!! Last night, Tom and I had dinner in town with a bunch of his coworkers. Afterwards, I told him we could just go ahead and have the baby since we were so close to the hospital and all. He thinks we should let her grow in there a bit longer- easy for him to say huh? But yes, I can muster all the "logicalness" inside of me and agree with him- she should stay put for now. However, hot temperatures, a big belly, and swollen feet make for one ready-to-go mother-to-be!!! Plus I want to kiss my baby's sweet face!!


But then again, I cling desperately to the ability to sleep when I want; go where I want without all the accessories of baby, and of course baby herself; have uniterrupted time to hang out with my husband; and just the general freedom that I know will leave me in approximately five and a half weeks. This is why living in the moment is a must.


So, just like June, we will stay busy in July to pass the time until Bethany makes her appearance. We're having a fourth of July party this week. We will celebrate our one year anniversary on the 7th!! My friend Shannon will be here next week, then some Tallahassee friends. My mom will be here the next week along with my KUMC kids who will be here for camp. And after that, I suppose I will just sit in the A/C and wait.


Any suggestions for passing the time are more than welcome as long as they involve air condition and no prolonged periods of being on my feet!

Ideas to pass the time:

1. Count backwards from 1,000.
2. Think of every possible word that can be formed from letters in Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
3. Read every article on the internet that has to do with dolphins.

That should keep you busy enough! I wish that I could see you in your pregnant state! :) Shannon and I had fun last week, but wished you were there with us! Love you!

Please let me know when you start to nest, get that splurge of energy, and start cleaning your whole house so I can pack and "wing" my way to Panama City!

Katie...have you thought about learning how to knit or crochet? I'm getting married to a total homebody (one of which I am definitely NOT) so I needed to find something to do while he watches sports or plays his video games, so I taught myself how to knit! I have made a couple things...I even made a blanket for my grandma last year. It's fun and you can leave it for a long time then pick it back up again...if you go to JoAnn Fabrics, they have a GREAT kit that has everything you need to learn how to do it! :):) Barbie

We knew all weeked that the new list was coming out on Monday night. I got more and more nervous as we got closer. By Tuesday morning, I was popping the pepto bismal chewables-heartburn which I have only had one other time (at the end of my pregnancy). Happy 16th Birthday Caleb!!

Happy 16th Birthday Caleb!! You are close to 5'5" and still growing. You finished 10th grade, and continued to rock it, excelling in a very challenging set of classes! You passed three more AP classes and several dual enrollment courses as well.  You were in the SAIL (AP Program), AP Capstone Club, Mu Alpha Theta (Math honor society), ASL Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Beta Club, and marching band. You placed third in the state for the Beta Convention Math Competition.   Happy 17th Birthday Bethany!!! You are about 5'2" but really you're like 5'1.5"! Small but mighty! You finished your junior year of high school and are entering your SENIOR YEAR!!! You had a very challenging academic course load but you soared and earned your AP Capstone diploma. You were part of a lot of clubs including one that you started called Kards for Kids that makes cards for kids in the hospital. You are also part of the SAIL program, AP Capstone, Mu Alpha Theta, Tri M, Science National Honor Society, National Honor Society, ASL Honor Society, and Next Gen.
