Adoption!

This past weekend, Tom was the lay director for a Chrysalis Flight. It was a ton of work and he did such a great job coordinating it all. I am so proud of him!! Needless to say, all spare time has gone to directing this past weekend and now that it's over we can take a deep breath, thank God for a fabulous weekend, and look to the future!
Notice the new blog name?

The coming months will be HUGE for the Fanning family! Most of you know by now, that Fanning baby 2.0 is on his or her way via adoption. Estimated date of arrival? Um, no idea! First, we still need a new house. Yep, still looking! But in order to be good stewards of our money and to have the funds needed for adoption, we have to be very careful in our house hunt- this is why we abandoned the pursuit of building a new home. A new house may be nice but a new child is WAY better!

So, step 1- buy a house.

Step 2- make a final decision on the adoption route we will take. This is a scary one. There are so many factors to consider. I think in my heart I know the route we will take but it's not final yet- I'll let you know when it is.

Step 3- File our formal application for adoption. Probably in mid August.

Step 4- It's fuzzy from there but I know it involves a lot of paperwork and A TON of waiting.

And in between all that, Bethany will turn two, Tom and I will celebrate our third anniversary, we'll send Tom and a team to Nicaragua again, I'll turn the big 3-0 and we'll just keep loving each other and loving God.

And by the way, Bethany is as cute as ever. She's really into hats and shoes right now. Pretty much anything she can find to accessorize with, she will. It's so cute! She still talks up a storm- I still can't understand much of it. She likes hugs and kisses, tickle fights, and piggy back rides. She has a potty chair now but she has no interest in using it as anything more than a toilet paperholder.

We are thinking about putting her in preschool a few days a week in the fall. She really likes to be around other kids and we think it'd be good for her and for her momma! : )

Well, that's about it for the Fanning Family. How are you?

not sure how I found you, but I have a daughter thru adoption. I highly recommend Children's Home Society here in PC. Good luck on your process to baby 2.0!
