 Happy 8th Birthday Bethany!!

  • You are 48 inches tall and weigh 60 pounds. Your work in gymnastics has given you very strong muscles.
  • You finished second grade this year and your teacher was Mrs. Evans.
  • Some of your best friends are Anna, Lauren, Carley, Lilly, Julianne, Guiliana, Lauren, Ariana, Marilenid, and Lacey. But of course there are many more. :)
  • You won the "Future President" Award in your class and you were the first student of the month during the year from your class.
  • You got straight As all year but it was really hard work. You've become a really great reader but you still prefer math, history, or science.

  • You competed in two gymnastics competitions this year and got some medals that you proudly display in your room. You are so strong and flexible and you overcame your fears and bravely competed in front of people.
  • You have decided to move on from the gymnastics team so you have time to pursue soccer so now you are taking one class a week of gymnastics and will play soccer in the fall.
  • Your favorite foods are: pizza, chicken nuggets, shrimp, most kinds of fruits, smoothies, salad, ham, and ice cream with magic shell.
  • You still love legos and you're really into playing with your baby dolls. You have also started collecting Shopkins. You love art, riding bike/scooter, and swimming.
  • You took swim lessons with Mrs. Christine this year and learned the butterfly stroke and some other new ones also. You have a snorkel and mask now and you love to look at and try and catch fish at the beach.
  • You still love ladybugs and are so very afraid of dogs.
  • We took our family vacation this year to Disney and went to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios. You went on your first upside down roller coaster. You also got to do and see a lot of cool Star Wars stuff at Hollywood Studios. We had a blast!
  • And then this summer, Nana treated us to a cruise to the Bahamas and you had a blast playing with your cousins and enjoying the ship.
  • You had been growing your hair out and it was finally long enough to cut and donate. You are growing it out again now.


  • You love church and Awana and you completed your Awana book again this year. You will be moving up from sparks to T&T next year.
  • We were super, super happy for you when you decided to be baptized this February. It took a lot of courage to overcome your fear of speaking in front of people but you did it. You invited Anna, Lauren, and Julianne to support you at the service along with our extended family. And of course we had a party afterwards to celebrate! We could not be more excited for you that you have chosen to follow Jesus and let His light shine through you!
  • You continue to want to be a Momma and babysitter when you grow up but you also mention wanting to be an engineer or a nursery director at a church.
  • Your favorite movie is probably the new live action Cinderella along with all the Star Wars movies. You like a lot of shows on Netflix like Brain Games and Magic Schoolbus.
  • You go to bed between 7:30-8 and you wake up at 6am for school but you do enjoy sleeping in when you can.
  • We continue to read the Jesus Storybook Bible every night before bed but you also love to read your new Early reader's edition Bible.
If I had to choose one word to describe your 7th year of life it would be "delightful". You are an absolute delight. Your joy, kindness, and love are amazing and you keep us smiling and laughing. Your laugh is contagious and your desire to help others and to do the right thing is awesome. Happy Birthday Bethy! We love you!

We knew all weeked that the new list was coming out on Monday night. I got more and more nervous as we got closer. By Tuesday morning, I was popping the pepto bismal chewables-heartburn which I have only had one other time (at the end of my pregnancy). There was no guarantee we would even receive a referral off the list, but we were hopeful. Tuesday morning I took Bethany to church for mother's morning out, nervously bought soap and 75% of Valentine's conversaion hearts at Target, and then I went to Panera and got a fruit punch. Happy 16th Birthday Caleb!!

Happy 16th Birthday Caleb!! You are close to 5'5" and still growing. You finished 10th grade, and continued to rock it, excelling in a very challenging set of classes! You passed three more AP classes and several dual enrollment courses as well.  You were in the SAIL (AP Program), AP Capstone Club, Mu Alpha Theta (Math honor society), ASL Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Beta Club, and marching band. You placed third in the state for the Beta Convention Math Competition. You started a countywide club called BAM (Bay Area Mathematicians).  You are in your 11th year of playing piano and were accepted into the University of Florida International Piano Festival with partial scholarship and the FSU Piano Institute. You chose FSU for the third year. You were part of a masterclass with the Gulf Coast College Professors. You were chosen to perform at the Bay Education Foundation Arts Alive fundraiser dinner.  You were selected as the pianist for the all county band ...

Happy 17th Birthday Bethany!

  Happy 17th Birthday Bethany!!! You are about 5'2" but really you're like 5'1.5"! Small but mighty! You finished your junior year of high school and are entering your SENIOR YEAR!!! You had a very challenging academic course load but you soared and earned your AP Capstone diploma. You were part of a lot of clubs including one that you started called Kards for Kids that makes cards for kids in the hospital. You are also part of the SAIL program, AP Capstone, Mu Alpha Theta, Tri M, Science National Honor Society, National Honor Society, ASL Honor Society, and Next Gen. You were section leader this year for band and had a solo in the marching show. You earned a superior at district and state solo and ensemble and another superior for a duet at district solo ensemble. You made 2nd chair all county.  You continued to be a part of the Teen Outreach Committee with St. Andrew Bay Estuary.
