 Happy 14th Birthday Bethany!

  • At exactly 5 feet tall, you're our fun sized girl. Small but mighty!
  • You finished 8th grade and graduated middle school maintaining all As from kindergarten through 8th grade. 


  • You were the Junior Beta Treasurer, participated in FCA, and the Pre-Sail Program.
  • You were awarded the Buccaneer Spirit Award for Integrity at 8th grade graduation.
  • This was your third year playing french horn and you also participated in the high school marching band. You received a superior for your french horn solo, made 2nd chair all county band, and the marching band received straight superiors at marching contest. 


  • You participated in Odyssey of the Mind again this year and your team placed first at regionals and 4th at state. 


  • Your Living Literature team placed third in the state at the Junior Beta Convention and you also competed with the robotics team.

  • You took tumbling and gymnastics classes again this year and joined the non-competitive team class for gymnastics. 
  • You volunteered with the foster resource closet, the mobile food pantry, VBS, at the Pearl Project Hope Family Camp, and at various school events. 


  • You attend the Wreck youth group with a bunch of your friends and had a blast at summer camp in June! You and your friends even started a before school Bible study. It's awesome to see you continue to grow in your faith. 
  • You continue to want to major in engineering in college. Some options you're considering are aeronautical and environmental engineering. You told me this year that you want a job where you can get up and be outside some and that you really like to come up with creative solutions to problems. You participated in FSU's STEM Story: The Power of Positive Role Models for middle school girls and had a great time learning and hearing from women in STEM fields. 
  • You love to swim, ride your bike, rollerblade, and do flips on trampolines. 
  • You like to read, build lego, and do crafts. 
  • You are into anything action and adventure- Star Wars, Marvel, etc. 
  • You love popcorn, watermelon, pizza, chicken nuggets, and smoothies. 
  • Trips and visits- Thanksgiving week we went to Great-grandma's house in New York and got to spend the week with her. We spent Christmas here at home with Nana, Granddaddy, and the Lebedevs. Half of us got covid so we couldn't head to Lakeland and Disney like we had planned. In January we headed up to Atlanta to go the Georgia Aquarium (a trip that was delayed from March 2020). It snowed while we were there and you and Momma were very excited about the snow! Unfortunately, the day after we got home, you tested positive for COVID. Gramma, Grampa, and Uncle George came up at the end of January and we finally got to celebrate Christmas with them. In February you went to Universal Studios with Daddy. Spring Break we spent the week at Disney. We went back and stayed with Gramma and Grampa and you went with Daddy again to Universal. We also got to see the Lebedevs in Orlando and at Nana and Granddaddy's this summer. 
  • You are quiet, kind, peace loving, and don't like conflict. You don't like to dress up, wear make up, or anything else fancy. You are introverted but have found your group of friends that you are comfortable with and it's been really fun to watch you girls have a blast together this past year. 
  • Messes don't bother you and you're one of the more go with the flow members of our family- you're just always up for something fun!
  • You are an absolute delight and joy- cuddly, sweet, and loving, you're the perfect daughter for our family! We love you whether you succeed or fail, good days and bad days, whether there's tears or laughter, we're here for it all! Thanks for being such an amazing member of our family! Happy Birthday sweet girl!!

It's a Boy!!!!!

We knew all weeked that the new list was coming out on Monday night. I got more and more nervous as we got closer. By Tuesday morning, I was popping the pepto bismal chewables-heartburn which I have only had one other time (at the end of my pregnancy). There was no guarantee we would even receive a referral off the list, but we were hopeful. Tuesday morning I took Bethany to church for mother's morning out, nervously bought soap and 75% of Valentine's conversaion hearts at Target, and then I went to Panera and got a fruit punch.   Happy 17th Birthday Bethany!!! You are about 5'2" but really you're like 5'1.5"! Small but mighty! You finished your junior year of high school and are entering your SENIOR YEAR!!! You had a very challenging academic course load but you soared and earned your AP Capstone diploma. You were part of a lot of clubs including one that you started called Kards for Kids that makes cards for kids in the hospital. You are also part of the SAIL program, AP Capstone, Mu Alpha Theta, Tri M, Science National Honor Society, National Honor Society, ASL Honor Society, and Next Gen. You were section leader this year for band and had a solo in the marching show. You earned a superior at district and state solo and ensemble and another superior for a duet at district solo ensemble. You made 2nd chair all county.  You continued to be a part of the Teen Outreach Committee with St. Andrew Bay Estuary. Happy 17th Birthday Caleb!

    Happy 17th Birthday Caleb!! You finished 11th grade, and you work so hard with an incredibly difficult academic load!  You earned your AP Capstone diploma with an amazing set of AP scores! You cold emailed professors at FSU and through that process, you earned a research internship. You are studying the GLP-1 neuron in rat brains with a PhD student and have been able to solve some software issues for them that caused the grad student to call you a "miracle worker." You will continue working on this research through this school year and we are excited to read the published paper when it comes out! You were one of only 100 High Schoolers this year chosen for the Disney Dreamers Academy. It was INCREDIBLE!!! You were in the SAIL (AP Program), AP Capstone Club, Mu Alpha Theta (Math honor society), ASL Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Beta Club, HOSA, Rho Kappa, Tri M, and marching band.
