Love is the Answer

"Love is the answer at least for most of the questions in my heart, like Why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard? It's not always easy and sometimes life can be deceiving. I'll tell you one thing, it's always better when we're together".

I love the lyrics to Jack Johnson's song, Better Together because it addresses an issue that is close to my heart- "questions" . My greatest emotional and spiritual struggle in life is worry and with worry comes many difficult questions. In fact, these questions at times have caused great distress in my life as I struggled with the what ifs, whys, whens, and hows of life. Miraculously my worries have not consumed me during this pregnancy but I still find myself asking many questions and like this songs says, love is the answer for most of these.

Will I be a good mom? Love is the answer
Will she know her Creator? Love is the answer
How will our marriage fare in the adventure of parenthood? Love is the answer
What if something happens to her? Love is the answer
What should I teach her? Love is the answer
Will she be a Gator or Seminole? Seminole is the answer (it did say love is the answer FOR MOST OF THESE)

7Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. 1 John 4: 7-12

Basically what this verse says is: Love is the answer, it's always better when we're together.

So knowing the love the Father has given me, I am sure I will be equipped to share love with Bethany and pray that she will in turn share that love with those around her.

I too love this song, and was reminded of parenthood when I first heard it. I share many of your questions, and agree with most of your answers. (Matthew, however, will either be a Dawg or a Yellow Jacket.) I'm excited about meeting Bethany!
