Happy 15th Birthday Caleb

Happy 15th Birthday Caleb!!

  • You are about 5'4" and still growing.
  • You finished 9th grade, your first year of high school, and did amazingly well! You took your first Dual Enrolled class and passed your first AP exam.
  • You were in the SAIL (AP Program), AP Capstone Club, Mu Alpha Theta (Math honor society) and marching band.
  • You are in your 10th year of playing piano and were accepted into the University of Florida International Piano Festival and the FSU Piano Institute. You chose FSU (Go Noles!). You were part of a masterclass with the Panama City Symphony and won the TMTA Sonata-Sonatina Festival for level 7/8. You also received a superior at Choctaw Bay Sonata Festival and received High Honors at the Student Day adjudication. You also entered the Panama City Symphony's young artist competition and although you didn't get chosen as a finalist, it was amazing hearing the result of the work you put into your audition!
  • You attend youth group at our church (Abide UMC) once a month and weekly at First UMC.
  • You attended Chrysalis and really grew in your walk with God.
  • You had a year of challenging health issues which started right before your birthday last year and resulted in two hospitalizations and a tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy. The surgery was extremely challenging but it seems to have helped a lot. It's great to see you feeling well this summer!
  • You are done with Invisalign for now and just wear retainers at night.
  • Currently you are interested in majoring in applied mathematics.
  • You volunteered at several school events, helped with disaster relief at a local church, and tutored math throughout the year. You also help the Pearl Project with weekly data entry.
  • You like to play online games with your friends, run with Dad, play board games, and go to the downtown arcade with friends.
  • You love chips, snack mix, and most any crunchy/salty snack. You love spaghetti, tacos, fried shrimp, and chicken fettuccini alfredo.
  • You and Dad went on a trip this year to see different aquariums, do some hiking, and play some mini golf.
  • When people think of you I know they think of you as extremely intelligent and talented. The joy of having you in our house each day is that we get to see how you put your natural abilities to good use. I don't know many people who study as much as you do. And if you're not studying, you're practicing piano or exercising. You like to have fun too, but you always get your work done first! We really loved watching you grow in your faith this year following Chrysalis and are proud of you for being committed to developing your own relationship with God. You are such a good friend and I love how you support those around you. You bring so much joy and laughter to our house! Your sense of humor is one of my favorite things about you. Can't wait to see how you continue to grow this coming year!
