I'm typing from my phone, sitting on an air mattress in our old house and I have a cold. So forgive me if this post has typos are is disjointed- wait, that's no different from normal so nevermind.
I just wanted to update you on what's been going on with us this week. You may remember that Bethy has had a bad cough for about three months now. It started as a cold and just never went away. We've had our carpets steam cleaned twice and have even spent weeks trying to clean them again ourselves-so much so that we broke the trigger on the steam vac. We also had our a\c totally cleaned out. Bethy continued to cough and this week she got a cold again. When I took her to the doctor, Bethy was diagnosed with asthma. I was a little caught of guard and Bethy was not interested in staying long enough for me to ask questions. So in a few hours, Tom and I have an appointment with the doctor to ask some questions. We'll let you know what we learn.
When Bethy and I got home from her appt Thursday I opened up my email to find a heartbreaking email from our adoption agency. There was a horrible incident with one of their families that adopted a child from China and as a result, our agency has been suspended from the China adoption program. We had several options including waiting for our agency's China program to be restored. We have made the decision to switch agencies and are in the process of choosing a new agency. We will be able to use our homestudy at the new agency so hopefully, we will not have a huge delay. Please pray for us as we decide and go through the process of extra paperwork.
So why am I in our old house on an air mattress. We have decided to replace the flooring in our new house. Until then, we will be camped out at the old house for the next two weeks. And then we will be on a cruise in the Bahamas- man do we need that vacation?!?! We are hoping that Bethys cough can clear up better at our old house and that we can have our floors installed before we return from our cruise. We are trying to think of this as an "adventure". Y'all may need to remind me if that daily.
Thanks for your support and love.

I know it's so hard when your little one is sick. You just want to do something and make them instantly better, but that's not possible. We live in a renovated old Cove home across the bayou from the paper mill. Mt children haven't eemed to suffer, but my sinuses sure have. We have mostly hardwood floors and have replaced all of our AC duct-work. It was a pain, and expensive, but I think worth it.
I'll be praying God will direct you guys to the perfect-for-you new adoption agency; and that He will give you peace in the process.
Have a great time on your cruise!
By the way, looking back, we are not sorry about the time delay because God was just timing it out just right so we could be matched with our daughter...if we had been dtc months earlier as planned...she would not have been on the list to be matched yet.
