Happy 6th Birthday Caleb!!

  • You are 44.5 inches tall.
  • You weigh 44 pounds.
  • You had a great year in kindergarten and will be in first grade in the fall.
  • You can read very well and are a spelling champ.
  • You are especially good a memorizing.
  • You rocked kindergarten and the kindergarten skills!
  • Your best friends at school this year were Miriam, Tatum, Elli, Fox, Isaac, and Brayden but everyone in your class was a great friend. You continue to be great friends with Sophia from pre-k.
  • Your teacher, Mrs. Stovall, gave you the "smile award" for the year and you also were Student of the Month in April.
  • You love playing Ipad and this year you discovered the game Angry Birds, Angry Birds Go, and for your birthday you got Angry Bird Jenga.
  • You want to be a teacher, a doctor, or a speech therapist when you grow up.
  • You love playing with Bethany, swimming, playing soccer, playing Clue Jr., Uno, and Sleeping Queens, and you like elephants (he told me to add that).
  • You like Star Wars, Mickey Mouse, Frozen, and Finding Nemo.
  • Your favorite foods are cereal, chips, spaghetti, PBJ, M & Ms, and bananas. You are a very good and adventurous eater but you do not like watermelon. Your favorite drink is water. We love to see you try something new, consider if you like it or not, and then reply, "Mmmm. I like that!"
  • You played soccer this year and you started piano lessons last fall. You have improved so much in soccer and you are a wonderful pianist with a knack for making up your own sweet melodies.
  • You love Awana at church on Wednesday nights and you liked going to children's church also. VBS this year helped you begin to want to talk about God more and you seemed to really begin to get how He loves you forever. You keep telling us "God has the power to love you forever!"
  • You continue to be our funny guy with a big personality. You like to make faces and be silly. You are not very shy and like to entertain people.
  • You took swim lessons again this year and are very brave in the water- you became comfortable going under the water this year. You love going to the water park and swimming in the pool.
  • You love our family calendar and pretty much memorize it every month. If Mom doesn't change it at the beginning of the month, you remind her it needs to be changed every day (or hour) until she updates it.
  • We have loved watching your speech continue to improve this year and you worked really hard to begin speaking in complete sentences.
  • You didn't have any big surgeries this year but did have extensive dental work. You also had a lot of different tests and procedures done that let us learn more about how your body and brain work. The result of all those test? You are one awesome big boy!!!
  • You wake up at 5am,play Ipad and eat cereal until 5:45 when you come and wake Mom and Dad up for the day. You go to bed at 7:30pm. You are an excellent sleeper.
  • You are very particular about having your blankets on your bed straight and "clean" and tell Momma that if she messes them up she has to clean it up.
  • You took an interest in Ch*na this year which was fun and you sometimes ask to go to the good Ch*nese restaurant for noodles. Our babysitter, Miss Hannah went to Ch*na this year and brought you back a new outfit and a scroll with your name on it.
You continue to amaze us with your strength and perseverance. You don't give up easily and you do everything with a contagious joy that makes others want to be around you. Bethany called you her hero this year in a writing assignment for school and we agree that you are a hero, an example of living life to the fullest and never giving up. Your love, kindness, and energy are an amazing contribution to our family and we look forward to watching you continue to learn and grow this year.

We knew all weeked that the new list was coming out on Monday night. I got more and more nervous as we got closer. By Tuesday morning, I was popping the pepto bismal chewables-heartburn which I have only had one other time (at the end of my pregnancy). There was no guarantee we would even receive a referral off the list, but we were hopeful. Tuesday morning I took Bethany to church for mother's morning out, nervously bought soap and 75% of Valentine's conversaion hearts at Target, and then I went to Panera and got a fruit punch. Happy 16th Birthday Caleb!!

Happy 16th Birthday Caleb!! You are close to 5'5" and still growing. You finished 10th grade, and continued to rock it, excelling in a very challenging set of classes! You passed three more AP classes and several dual enrollment courses as well.  You were in the SAIL (AP Program), AP Capstone Club, Mu Alpha Theta (Math honor society), ASL Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Beta Club, and marching band. You placed third in the state for the Beta Convention Math Competition. You started a countywide club called BAM (Bay Area Mathematicians).  You are in your 11th year of playing piano and were accepted into the University of Florida International Piano Festival with partial scholarship and the FSU Piano Institute. You chose FSU for the third year. You were part of a masterclass with the Gulf Coast College Professors. You were chosen to perform at the Bay Education Foundation Arts Alive fundraiser dinner.  You were selected as the pianist for the all county band ...

Happy 17th Birthday Bethany!

  Happy 17th Birthday Bethany!!! You are about 5'2" but really you're like 5'1.5"! Small but mighty! You finished your junior year of high school and are entering your SENIOR YEAR!!! You had a very challenging academic course load but you soared and earned your AP Capstone diploma. You were part of a lot of clubs including one that you started called Kards for Kids that makes cards for kids in the hospital. You are also part of the SAIL program, AP Capstone, Mu Alpha Theta, Tri M, Science National Honor Society, National Honor Society, ASL Honor Society, and Next Gen. You were section leader this year for band and had a solo in the marching show. You earned a superior at district and state solo and ensemble and another superior for a duet at district solo ensemble. You made 2nd chair all county.  You continued to be a part of the Teen Outreach Committee with St. Andrew Bay Estuary.
