Happy 15th Birthday Bethany!

  • You are about 5' 1.5" feet tall.
  • You finished your first year of high school and did extremely well and passed your first AP exam!
  • You were in the SAIL program, Beta Club, Next Gen, and FCA.
  • You play french horn in concert band and mellophone in marching band. You received a superior for your solo at solo and ensemble and participated in FSU's summer senior high band camp.
  • You took gymnastics and tumbling classes and participated in youth group.
  • You and your friends have a Bible study once a week before school and you enjoy serving with the foster resource closet.
  • You want to be an environmental scientist and are thinking of majoring in environmental engineering and you would like to go to University of Florida. 
  • You love adventure, geocaching, swimming, biking, reading, watching TV/movies, playing rummikub at Nana and Granddaddys, and hanging out with your friends. 
  • Your favorite foods are watermelon, popcorn, chick fil a, spaghetti, and pizza.
  • For Thanksgiving the Lebedevs and FitzGeralds came to town and we all had Thanksgiving dinner at our house and spent time with the family! For Christmas we went to Lakeland and had fun with Gramma, Grampa, and Uncle George. We also made a stop at the Florida Aquarium. Unfortunately, most of the family got COVID and spent a week or so being sick from that. We did get to celebrate Christmas with the Lebedevs and Nana and Granddaddy just not on Christmas day. 
  • This summer you went to youth camp with the Wreck, to FSU band camp, and we went to North Carolina with friends. We also spent a couple days at Aquatica in Orlando.
  • For your birthday this year, you had friends over to swim and also went out to eat with a different group of friends. 
  • You've grown and matured a lot this year as you've navigated starting high school. We're so thankful for the sweet group of friends you have and for how you build each other up and encourage each other in your faith. You're always up for an adventure and you work so hard. We love to have fun with you and to hear your thoughts about life. You are such a joy and we love you so much! We're looking forward to watching how you continue to grow this coming year!

    We knew all weeked that the new list was coming out on Monday night. I got more and more nervous as we got closer. By Tuesday morning, I was popping the pepto bismal chewables-heartburn which I have only had one other time (at the end of my pregnancy). There was no guarantee we would even receive a referral off the list, but we were hopeful. Tuesday morning I took Bethany to church for mother's morning out, nervously bought soap and 75% of Valentine's conversaion hearts at Target, and then I went to Panera and got a fruit punch.     Happy 17th Birthday Bethany!

      Happy 17th Birthday Bethany!!! You are about 5'2" but really you're like 5'1.5"! Small but mighty! You finished your junior year of high school and are entering your SENIOR YEAR!!! You had a very challenging academic course load but you soared and earned your AP Capstone diploma. You were part of a lot of clubs including one that you started called Kards for Kids that makes cards for kids in the hospital. You are also part of the SAIL program, AP Capstone, Mu Alpha Theta, Tri M, Science National Honor Society, National Honor Society, ASL Honor Society, and Next Gen. You were section leader this year for band and had a solo in the marching show. You earned a superior at district and state solo and ensemble and another superior for a duet at district solo ensemble. You made 2nd chair all county.  You continued to be a part of the Teen Outreach Committee with St. Andrew Bay Estuary.     Happy 17th Birthday Caleb!

        Happy 17th Birthday Caleb!! You finished 11th grade, and you work so hard with an incredibly difficult academic load!  You earned your AP Capstone diploma with an amazing set of AP scores! You cold emailed professors at FSU and through that process, you earned a research internship. You are studying the GLP-1 neuron in rat brains with a PhD student and have been able to solve some software issues for them that caused the grad student to call you a "miracle worker." You will continue working on this research through this school year and we are excited to read the published paper when it comes out! You were one of only 100 High Schoolers this year chosen for the Disney Dreamers Academy. It was INCREDIBLE!!! You were in the SAIL (AP Program), AP Capstone Club, Mu Alpha Theta (Math honor society), ASL Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Beta Club, HOSA, Rho Kappa, Tri M, and marching band.
