Sleep and Smiles for Everyone

Well, we've hit the two month mark and I must say; I am so enjoying being a mom! I think I always knew I would but now that my dream has come true, it is confirmed. I love it! And my little girl that left the hospital weighing just over 6 pounds is now almost 12 pounds!! She is also heart murmur free!! Tom went back to work fulltime last week and we are all adjusting to the new normal schedule. Bethany just started sleeping through the night- between 6 and 8 hours at a stretch.

We are all thankful for that! Her sleeping, makes mommy and daddy smile! And speaking of smiles.... Check this out:



I know! It's adorable right? She is just a smiling little girl now! Esepcially in the morning just after breakfast and before morning nap. I eat it up!! The afternoon is a different story- she has quite the little attitude when it comes to taking her afternoon nap. I can tell she's tired but she will do anything she can to avoid falling asleep including flinging her paci across the room and screaming. So I am working on getting her to fall asleep in her crib in the afternoons. I started writing this blog entry around 1pm today and am just now getting back to it- it's 7pm!

Ok, well Bethany has just indicated she would like to spend some quality time with me aka she's screaming so we'll see ya later!

I LOVE the picture of Bethany with her bear! She looks like she's leaning her head toward her best friend (as girls often do in pictures). Sweet baby!

We knew all weeked that the new list was coming out on Monday night. I got more and more nervous as we got closer. By Tuesday morning, I was popping the pepto bismal chewables-heartburn which I have only had one other time (at the end of my pregnancy).   Happy 17th Birthday Bethany!!! You are about 5'2" but really you're like 5'1.5"! Small but mighty! You finished your junior year of high school and are entering your SENIOR YEAR!!! You had a very challenging academic course load but you soared and earned your AP Capstone diploma. You were part of a lot of clubs including one that you started called Kards for Kids that makes cards for kids in the hospital. You are also part of the SAIL program, AP Capstone, Mu Alpha Theta, Tri M, Science National Honor Society, National Honor Society, ASL Honor Society, and Next Gen. Happy 17th Birthday Caleb!

    Happy 17th Birthday Caleb!! You finished 11th grade, and you work so hard with an incredibly difficult academic load!  You earned your AP Capstone diploma with an amazing set of AP scores! You cold emailed professors at FSU and through that process, you earned a research internship. You are studying the GLP-1 neuron in rat brains with a PhD student and have been able to solve some software issues for them that caused the grad student to call you a "miracle worker." You will continue working on this research through this school year and we are excited to read the published paper when it comes out! You were one of only 100 High Schoolers this year chosen for the Disney Dreamers Academy. It was INCREDIBLE!!!
