Old Soul

I am not even sure what day it is, let alone when the last time I updated the blog. But here we are, alive and thriving. Happy Birthday to my Dad, by the way!! Hard to believe that four years ago we were singing happy birthday to you at our wedding rehearsal dinner and look at us now. Hope you have a great day!!

We are doing fabulous. I am not sure when the grieving will come but Caleb is doing wonderfully. Today he is even more playful and smiling. He wants to be held almost all the time but we have been able to put him down some, especially in the hotel room. He is eating ok but we think he may be a bit clogged up so he's not eating as much today. He did eat some watermelon at breakfast this morning which is great since he has little experience eating solid foods.

He is sleeping well, makes good eye contact with us, is interested in everything. He hated the bath this morning. He was a wreck during the medical exam today. The medical exam is just simple but he was still terrified. It makes sense- he has been in the hospital twice before and they hired a caregiver he didn't know to go with him. It must have been traumatic.

Our laptop has a virus now so we can't use it anymore while we are here so I am typing this very quickly at the business center.

We have one paperwork glitch on the vaccination waiver form. I filled it out using both our names and it is only supposed to say one parent's name. They are working it out and it should not be a problem. All that paperwork, and this is what trips us up? Oh well!

We are in Guangzhou now and it is wonderful! We are loving it. We went on a river cruise last night and had a great time. It was beautiful. We've met some other families. One has a girl with the same birthdate (one year younger) as Caleb and they live in Javksonville. We are hoping to visit them when we visit Tom's sister and family.

Wait until you meet Caleb! He is the sweetest little guy. One of the other moms says he has an old soul and I think she's right. He's just calm and thoughtful and so so sweet. I am sure we will see his personality more once he is comfortable but for now we like what we see.

That's all for now!!

What a sweet way to describe Caleb--"an old soul." :) Loving it! Katie, Tom, Bethany and Caleb--God is holding you in the palm of his hand. What a beautiful witness! Praying, praying!

So great to hear how everything is going! How did Caleb do on the flight to Guangzhou? I'm sorry to hear your laptop has a virus. That has to be very frustrating not to be able to use your computer. When you get back, I'll need to ask for advice on Internet use. A dad who just traveled told me he couldn't even check email when he was in China without a VPN. Hope you enjoy Guangzhou!
